| I just got married and was waking up to get off to college while finishing my last year in journalism. My wife called and said "turn on the television". I did, and the second plane had not hit yet. When I got to college, as I walked up to the television studio in the Basket Ball Arena my professor walked out, and with the sun reflecting off the domed arena a shadow threw his hands up and hollered, “Go home and turn on the television…This is your Pearl Harbor” That is why I built this site.

Awoke was a nation
Battered, bruised, but not broken
Their eyes whispered tears
And quietly their hearts wept
But their conviction was loudest
From sea to shining sea they sung
And from state to country united they stood
A subtle glance of America was reborn
The experienced acknowledged the young
The young remembered the old
And together they echoed generations
Battlefields rose from their shallow graves
And rekindled the freedom flame
In still night souls prayed
And a nation once under God
Was again this day
And to those who defy this strength
To them, I will not give the privilege of my ink |
